Jim Tich's Road To Recovery

Never in a million years would I think I would be writing this, but here we are. As many of you know, Thursday night my dad was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke at home. He is currently in intensive care and hoping to be moved to a regular floor soon. The testing that has been done has showed that the stroke was caused by extremely high blood pressure. The stroke has caused the left side of his body to be very unsteady and extremely weak. For all of you who know my dad, not being able to move around normally is beyond frustrating to him. He works with his hands for his job as an electrician and always has at least 10 things that he is working on around the house so it has been difficult for him to wrap his head around. The neurologists and therapists have decided that once he is stable, he will be moving to an in-patient rehab center to help him gain back his strength and function. This type of center focuses on intense post-stroke occupational and physical therapy. In order to help pay for the extensive medical costs of the emergency care as well as the long road of therapy that lies ahead, I have set up this page to help take away some of the stress my parents are now faced with.
