Help Baby Lucas!!! Ayuda a Lucas!!!

Este hermoso bebe de 7 meses es Lucas, mi primer y único hijo, quien nació el 18 de febrero del 2016, prematuro de 34 semanas y media. El presenta una deformidad en la morfología craneal llamada cranesinostosis: Trigonocefalia, que es la ausencia (cierre precoz) de la sutura metópica, con la clásica deformidad fronto-orbitaria de una trigonocefalia. En esencia, su contorno cefálico frontal está determinado por una frente muy prominente de morfología triangular, con depresión hacia regiones laterales orbitarias y peterional bilateral. La historia natural de esta condición son sus potenciales complicaciones, siendo las más importantes, la hipertensión intercranial con su consecuente deterioro neurológico y la deformidad de las orbitas oculares, por eso se requiere una cirugía craneal compleja y muy costosa para corregirla, antes de que aparezcan dichas complicaciones. La edad ideal para esta operación es entre los 3 y 6 primeros meses de vida, pero no he podido operarlo por muchas razones, una de ellas es que en mi país Venezuela, las condiciones actuales son precarias (no hay insumos, ni medicina, ni comida, ni pañales, ni leche). Por esta razón decidí operarlo en Panamá, donde actualmente residen mi madre y mi hermana. El costo de la cirugía en Panamá es de US$ 18,000. Aquí en Panamá mi estatus migratorio es de turista, y aunque soy ingeniero electrónico, estoy dispuesta a realizar cualquier trabajo honesto que salga, pero, aun así, no sería suficiente. Además de mis fondos limitados, soy una madre soltera, así que para mí es imposible cubrir los costos de la operación que urgentemente requiere Lucas, y menos en moneda extranjera. Por eso estoy recaudando fondos para poder operar a Lucas. De todo corazón les pido que ayuden a Lucas a que sea operado lo antes posible para que siga siendo el bebe sano y feliz que es. This beautiful baby who is now 7 months old is Lucas, my first and only child. He was born premature at 34 and a half weeks on February 18, 2016. Consequently, Lucas was born with a deformity in his cranial morphology called cranesinostosis: Trigonocephaly, which is the absence (early closure ) of the metopic, with classical fronto-orbital deformity of trigonocephaly. Cephalic frontal contour is determined by a prominent front triangular morphology depressed toward bilateral orbital and lateral regions pterional (a big and noticeable bump on his forehead). The downfall of this condition is its potential complications, the most important being intercranial hypertension with consequent neurological impairment and deformity of the eye sockets. To correct Lucas’ deformity, a complex and expensive cranial surgery is required before such complications begin to appear. The ideal age for this operation is between the first 3 and 6 months of life. Unfortunately, Lucas has not been able to have his surgery for different reasons, but the main one being that my country, Venezuela, is currently experiencing the worst social, political and economic crisis of its history. Twenty-five (25) children die every day just because of malnourishment and lack of medical supplies. Venezuela has no supplies of any kind, no medicine, no food, no diapers, no milk, to name a few. For this reason, I decided to take Lucas to Panama, where my mom and sister currently live and work. The cost of surgery in Panama is US $18,000 which might not be much compared to other countries, but it is a lot for me. My immigrant status here in Panama is that of a tourist and although I am an electronic engineer, I am willing to do any honest work to raise funds to operate Lucas. From the bottom of my heart, and as the single mom that I am, I ask you to help Lucas get the operation he desperately needs so he can keep on living his life as the healthy and happy baby is.
