Help Luna and Friends

Hi friends,
We have recently come across a terrible animal neglect situation and need your help!
Luna and her 5 friends have been living in deplorable conditions. After their owner was put in prison, they were left with a roommate. He decided to continue to breed these dogs in order to make money on his new “business”. One day he came home to find Luna unconscious, in a pool of blood. One of the other dogs had attacked her and ripped off most of her ear. There was blood on the walls and all over the floor. While she did survive the attack, Luna now is missing most of her ear. That was about a year ago.
The new “owner” recently went away for 4 days. After 2 days, he remembered he had six dogs and called his friend to ask if he could stop by and feed his dogs. Seeing the stench, filth, and condition of the dogs, he took two of the sickest dogs home.
When we discovered this situation, we immediately took Luna and Dory to the vet. Luna, about 4 years old, was in such bad shape, she had to be admitted to the hospital the next day with severe kidney failure. She is also malnourished and dehydrated. She is still there, on an iv drip, having her system flushed. We hope she makes it through the night. The vet said she probably ate a bottle of aspirin or something else toxic. The condition of this dog is directly attributed to her living conditions, and could have been avoided.
Dory about 11 months old, eyes are so swollen, she can barely open her eyes. The vet checked for a corneal scratch. Since that was negative, she got steroid cream for her eyes, along with a steroid shot for her eyes and severe skin allergies.
All dogs have severe parasites, including giardiasis, coccidia, and isospora oocysts, which are highly contagious to other dogs. All dogs will require a visit to the vet in order to obtain the medications for the parasites. So far, we have only taken two to see the vet.
We went and got another dog from the home yesterday. Morty is 14 years old. He is going to the vet tomorrow to get checked and to get meds for parasites.
There are three additional dogs still at the house. These three live in the garage, two unneutered males and an unaltered female. They look fair, but all most likely have parasite and need medication right away, aside from the possibility of another pregnancy.
The three dogs we have taken were living inside the house and never saw light of day. They had no access to the outside. There is feces and urine all over the house. Luna’s pads on her feet are so overgrown, it looks like spikes growing off her feet, due to her inability to go outside. The entire yard is also filled with feces and urine. The dogs are filthy, flea infested, and parasite-filled.
The good news is that these 6 dogs are out of that toxic environment and are their way to recovery! We need to focus on the positive and giving these dogs the life they so well deserve.
Our plan is to one by one get each dog the proper medical treatment, updated on shots, and spay/neutered. Once we have all the dogs cleared, we will need to start finding foster homes, or even better yet FOREVER homes!
Luna is going to be a special case as she is the most sick out of the bunch and will require the most care and attention. After she is out of the hospital, we plan to bring her home and start her medication in a comfortable environment and get her on the road to recovery. Her at home care will include 1 IV bag given once a day for a month, 5 different types of oral medication, and much more. Her future is unknown, but we will do everything we can to keep her comfortable, happy, and healthy.
We broke down the costs needed to save these dogs.

So friends, we are asking for help. Help to get these dogs the medical attention they need and then help to place them into loving homes. We can't do this alone. Any type of donation is very much appreciated and will go towards saving these dogs.
These dogs, once medically cleared, will be available for adoption. If you are interested in fostering and / or adopting, please contact us and we would love for you to come meet them, they would love it too :)
Every one of these dogs is so well mannered and loves just about everything! All dogs are good with people, babies, other dogs, and even cats! They are gentle giants and just want to be held like a baby.
We could not save these dogs if it wasn't for you - this amazing community of dog-loving people. This bunch has been through hell and back but they are still so loving and sweet. They deserve a better life - a life with love, affection, and care. Despite their past of neglect, let's together help them look forward to a bright future.
THANK YOU!!!
Please contact Jenna Finch directly for more information, in person donations, or interest in coming to meet the pups!
