Yesterday, my cousin Cassie lost her life battling with anorexia and bulimia. She was wrongfully discharged from the hospital, lost conciousness just minutes after being discharged, in the hospital waiting area. 20 minutes later she was gone. She was on state medical care, and I believe she would still be here and would have gotten proper IN PATIENT CARE if she wasn't poverty stricken.
She wanted to be buried, but unfortunately we cannot afford the $7K the funeral home wants up front just for burial.
They've asked for 2K, by Friday, just for private viewing and cremation. We are asking anyone who can help, even just a few dollars, to help out the family with this cost.
I was there when she was born, she was like my baby sister. This should it have happened and we fought like hell to get her the medical and mental help and we lost the battle. I just want her to get the memorial she deserves. And please hug your loved ones extra tight and if you have a loved one with an eating disorder, don't stop fighting! I never want another family to go through this.
