Doug Thames,52 years old, was diagnosed with two forms of cancer 3 months ago - Lymphoma and a rare Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. He will be undergoing 6 months of chemo along with radiation, the battle of his life.
My name is Glenn Eads, Dougie's AMBASSADOR OF KWAN. I met Doug in 1988 at my gym in Redlands California. He was a med student at Loma Linda University. Everybody knows Doug ... he's the guy that everybody wants to be friends with, his personality and stupid good looks just drew you in ... then you get to know him and ... damn !! He is the nicest guy with a heart of gold. I knew Doug only through my relationship with him at the gym. It was early 1991 , after I sold the business and did not have any family or friends close by (it's funny when you own a gym everybody is your friend - things change very quickly) so I went over to Doug's home one night, and he had an Ibanez guitar sittin on his couch and BAM !! for the next 2 years we were practically inseperable.
Doug pulled me out of a depression that I feared had ... not a good ending. I am forever in his debt.
He LOVES THE GUITAR ... he studied Joe Satriani probably more than he studied at med school - learned every lick. See. he is slightly OCD; pretty much everything he does, he takes to a level of excellence. For the last 6 years he has been a Harley Davidson mechanic. He loves art, food, music ... see you know someone like Doug ... that guy you look at and say ....
MAN I WISH I WAS HIM !!! ... until now.
For my friends and family in Oregon and California, if I have touched your life, brought joy and happiness to you ... Doug Thames was someone that was partly responsible. I do not know how much $$ he will need, I'm starting with 7.5K because I know I have 250 people in this world with $30 who can help my friend out. These funds will help Doug and his family pay for copays, hospital bills, additional costs associated with recovery and chomotherapy.
Your thoughts and prayers are enormously valued and felt! I really cannot think of words to express my graditude, just know that it means the world to me and Dougs friends and family.
THANK YOU.
Sincerly,
Glenn Eads
