Jeremiah's Fund

My name is Nishant Joshi.  I work at the Oakland Police Department.  Yesterday (September 20, 2016), myself and several other Oakland Police Officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision.  Officers got there within minutes.  Tragically, we learned that 2 year old Jeremiah was struck by a bus chasing a ball into the street.  Jeremiah did not survive his injuries.

I met with Jeremiah's family.  Understandably, they were devastated.  As a parent myself, I cannot imagine the pain they are going through.  This family was already grieving the loss of another family member.  This only compounded their pain.

I am asking that we collect money for the family to support them during these tough times.  The money raised will be used to help with funeral arrangements and any other needs the family will have.  We hope to raise the money as soon as possible.  I believe the services will occur on September 23, 2016.  So, time is of the essence.  

The Oakland Police Department is asking for your help. Being able to help this family means so much to the Oakland Police Department because this tragedy hits home for so many.  We would be so grateful for your support.  Most importantly, Jeremiah's family will receive the support they need right now.
