Tevaland Rescue Animal Farm

Donation protected
Taly and D are a couple who have worked most of their lives as teachers with a focus on those with special needs. Eight years ago they began a small sustainable homestead, on a woodland property. While looking to adopt their first goat, they were exposed to a world of animal issues that you, unfortunately, do not hear much about.

There is a huge need for a safe haven for farm and homestead animals who have been mistreated.  While dogs and cats all have facilities, little is available for livestock animals.

Our hearts blinded us to all logistics difficulties ahead, and we began to collect to our homestead animals that were in desperate need of a loving home.

This includes goats, horses, chickens, boars, pigs, ducks, ferrets and MORE!

Most of our animals are rescued. Some we got from desperate owners that loved and cared for their animals, but could no longer handle them. We started to serve as a hub that tries to find an alternative home for these animals. However, if we do not find an alternative, proper, loving, caring home, our homestead becomes the animal’s loving forever home.

We built every fence and (most) structures on the farm, with our own hands, on our private “shoestring” budget, and mostly from recycled materials.

TevaLand is a special preservation farm that is in a beautiful part of the historical woodland of the Ramapo Mountains in Rockland County.

It is also a life mission. We also provide people with the chance to (as our slogan says) “touch and be touched by nature.” We work with special needs communities, schools and colleges, veterinary students and people from all walks of life. We have created an exclusive mutual benefit, therapeutic process. People take an active part in the rehabilitation of our rescued animals. By hands on direct contact, people help the animals, find their calm and balance, while finding their own.

We are a certified not for profit organization.

Your greatly appreciated donation will specifically be used to directly support our rescued animals, and allow us to rescue more in the following ways:

- Help with feeding and veterinarian expenses. Help with hay and grain (we feed about 1500 pounds of hay a week! And about 200 pounds of grain!)

- Improve structures, building more safe pens and barn space to accommodate more rescued animals before the coming winter.

- Maintain a website that will provide people with a place to contact, in case a wild animal or farm animals is in need of rescue. This website will also educate people about what to do when they encounter a wild or farm animal in need of rescue.

- Build facilities that will allow us to become a certified Wild Birds Refuge, many people contact us to help with wild birds.

- Allow us to maintain the expenses involve in bringing our therapy animals, to places where healing for the soul is needed.
