Hi, my name is Edith Perez, and I am 17 years old. I am a senior in high school and I have a younger sister, Valeria Perez. Valeria is 14 years old and a freshman. Recently our mother had a brain aneurysm and had to be hospitalized. She has been in the hospital for about a month and she was in a coma for a week. She is unable to move, talk, and is using a breathing machine to help her breathe. The doctors are struggling to keep her blood pressure down. She has gone through two surgeries and has been on the borderline of death. It has truly been extremely difficult without her and unfortunately we have not had a lot of family support.
This has really been hard on my sister and I. Our father is constantly working and trying to bring in as much money as he can, which means my sister and I have been on our own. Most nights my father is working so much that he does not even come home. When he is not at home or at work, he's at the hospital right by my mom's side. With everything that has happened, I am required to step up and do the things my mom would do if she were here. I am taking care and providing for my little sister as best as I can. I have to cook and clean and worry about whether or not my dad has eaten and if he is okay. Also, my education is beeing affected. My grades have dropped and I've had to quit cross country in order to get a job to help out as much as possible.
My mom has no insurance and the bills are way too expensive to pay on our own. It would be greatly appeciated if you coulda make a donation to my family and I. We will be so thankful for anyone who is willing to help. God Bless You.
