Legal fees for custody

I’m Tabitha Lam, aunt,  but known as Mama, to this precious 5 yr old girl named, Charity, who has been in my care since she was 13 months old. Her biological father is trying to take her out of our home and without delving into too much information, my husband and I are trying to keep her out of a dangerous and bad living environment. The only way for us to fight is to hire an attorney but legal fees are overwhelming. I do not want to give up and not fight for what I know is best but I need help from anyone who knows the situation and knows that I only want what is best for Charity.
