Hello, everyone! As this is long over due, the MCP team needs your help! We have many major medical cases going on and as much as we wish money wasn't an issue, it is. First, let's share Luther's story. Luther was listed for euthanasia at CACC the day we hustled, found foster and placed a firm hold on him. He was extremely, extremely sick. Luther was a part of of our lives for a month before he and we fought hard for his life. We lost the battle and the stars gained a bright light. Luther was in the best home. Surrounded by the greatest people and loved to the moon and back again. Luther never stopped coughing. He did get better from when he first arrived. He chased toys, ran around his beautiful yard but he never stopped coughing. We were constantly at the vet, trying new medications and taking x-rays. One day Luther seemed fine and two days later Luther was rushed back to our vet where he went purple and we rushed him over to Blue Pearl, thankfully right down the street. His foster to adopt parents, our dear team members, and myself were in and out for the next 12 hours. We gave him every chance possible till we were forced with the decision that his body was giving up and we could not let him suffer any further. We had to set him free. Luther was diagnosed with pneumothorax. This happened in a matter of 12 hours. Needless to say it was a brutal day for everyone involved. RIP Luther, we love you forever.
Luther's emergency bill with non for profit discount was almost $4000.00, that does not include his medications, constant vet visits, and xrays over the last month. We weren't expecting this emergency and of course in the meantime we committed to taking two broken chis that needed leg amputations and a Dobie that flew from a second story building down to concrete. This also doesn't include the numerous flu dogs we have pulled from CACC as well as three medical seniors we were proudly a part of helping from a recent hoarding situation. So... we are asking for your help. We can only keep doing what we do if we have the funds to keep our medical bills paid. Not to mention the stress of worrying about finances when we need to concentrate on continuoulsy rehabilitating our dogs, mentally and physically. Financial strain keeps us from being able to focus and be productive. We appreciate you and know well it takes a village to save just one life. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
Thank You!!
