Hope and Health for baby Alice.

Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by and reading this. My name is Susie and some really great friends of mine need your help.
On the 21st July 2016 young parents Chris and Teearna welcomed their first baby into the world. Alice was tiny, beautiful and born with a port wine stain birthmark on her face and neck. At this stage it wasn't serious.
After having an MRI done it was confirmed that Alice had a large amount of pressure in her eyes that if it wasn't fixed could send her blind. This new little family then had to travel to Sydney to Westmead children's hospital to see further specialists. Further tests revealed that Alice has been diagnosed with Sturge Weber Syndrome.
Sturge Weber Syndrome is a neurological disorder that is marked by the port wine stain birthmark, usually on the face. This can cause Glaucoma (which Alice already has in one eye). Chris and Teearna have to wait and see if seizures, strokes or learning difficulties will present themselves as she gets older. Unfortunately there is no treatment, except for laser surgery that can fade the birthmark. The birthmark is currently over some of Alice's little brain
Chris and Teearna who are 21 and 20 have a big journey ahead of them with their little Alice. They are two of the toughest people I know who need your help. Alice will need on going Dr and specialist appointments, medical assistant and support and specialised care as she grows up.
If you can, we would all appreciate your help as it would mean the world to them to have people's support and well wishes.
Warm regards.
Susie Kennett.
