For MacKenzy Cleveland with Love

MacKenzy is an incredible young woman. President of her Senior class, member of the student counsel, yearbook photographer, honor student , active in her church and also someone who recently lost her mother Kelly in a motorcycle accident. MacKenzy's dad Jeff also died suddenly 7 years ago. Now MacKenzy is forced to deal with issues and make decisons that no 17 year old should have to face.

While we are hopeful the motorcycle insurance will pay for the some of the hospital bills incurred by Kelly's short stay, we know it will not be nearly enough to pay for the attempts to save her life or the CareFlight charges. Kelly had no medical insurance and the medical bills will be exorbitant. These expenses, on top of the funeral and other bills that will be and are coming in, will not just go away since there is no an adult to pay for them. Any money that might have been afforded to MacKenzy will first be slotted to pay for the surmounting medical bills.
Going forward, MacKenzy will not have the security of her parents to help her afford the things many of us take for granted. Things a 17 year old should not have to worry about trying to afford on her own. While MacKenzy is extremely responsible and does have a part-time job to help pay her phone bill, gas and auto insurance there will be ongoing expenses that normally her mom would have helped out with. This doesn't even include trying to pay for college next year. Her dream was always to go to OU. Jeff's family from Tulsa, OK will be instrumental in her future in Oklahoma, but we all know college is very expensive.
The need for this GoFundMe campaign is to help set up some security for MacKenzy to help pay her mom's trauma medical bills as well as any other expenses associated with the loss of Kelly. We would like to have enough collected to let MacKenzy finish out her senior year as she will stay living with Kelly's fiance Dave. We would also like to have a nest-egg to possibly help with some of her college expenses. To allow MacKenzy to enjoy those things a 17 year old should. But mostly- to help MacKenzy keep her dreams of going to college alive in the face of losing both of her parents.
Friends and family will help as much as we can- it truly will take a village. Emotional support will never be a factor. MacKenzy is truly loved by so many people. Kelly- and Jeff- raised a wonderful, respectful young lady. MacKenzy is appreciative of everything and everyone in her life. She takes nothing for granted since losing her dad and especially now that her mom too is gone. MacKenzy is not like most of the kids her age who appreciate nothing and expect everything. MacKenzy is one of the most wonderful people I have the priviledge of knowing and loving. I can guarantee you she will use any funds collected on her behalf for essentials and college. She will be eternally grateful for the generosity no matter what the amount.
Please view this donation as an investment in the future of an incredible person. Lori, MacKenzy's guardian, will be withdrawing the funds on behalf of MacKenzy.
