Catalina Apartment Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
Six of our friends have lost their homes in an apartment fire, with one in intensive care for injuries sustained.
At 5:45pm on September 27th a fire broke out in the South Catalina apartment complex that shelters many contributors to our artistic, queer communities in Los Angeles. The fire decimated two top floor apartments and the damage resulting from the work of 62 firefighters who reported to the scene condemned two further, lower units, leaving four households immediately displaced. Four households lost all or most of their worldly goods and one resident was taken to a nearby hospital, having suffered severe burns. She is presently stable, but the road to recovery will be a long one. At this point we are uncertain as to whether she has insurance. While the Red Cross has stepped in to help provide emergency relief, we need to respond immediate housing and material needs for each of the households involved.

We are beginning a fundraiser quickly, and this page will evolve over time, but we wanted to get this up and out there for our communities to unite in support of Clara, Dave/Jonesy, Lauren, Malia, Michael and Sergey. Please donate what you can to help rebuild the lives and recoup medical costs for those effected by the Catalina fire.
