Support the Walsh Family as Shane fights AML again

Donation protected
As some of you may already know, on Friday,  (August 28th), we got some news that shocked us all. Shane went into the hospital for kidney stones and left with the worst news ever. He was immediately admitted for a mass on his pancreas and kidney. He required further medical attention and was seen at St. Peter's Hospital by a specialist. On that Sunday after he arrived by ambulance he was informed that he had a blood clot in his abdomen.

He would require 24 hours of blood thinners before they could perform a biopsy and stent. The following day, September 1st, he went home. Shane and his family received a preliminary diagnosis of  Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Shane was in remission from AML over the past 16 years and already  had a full bone marrow transplant.

From there Shane  and Stacy headed to Dana Farber Cancer Institution in Boston, Mass. on September 9th  for further tests and imaging.  It was confirmed that Shane has a rare form of AML this time around called Myeloid Sarcoma. Shane has tumors in his organs.

Shane cannot have any visitors except one adult right now, due to the CDC guildelines in place because of Covid, which means the kids and the rest of their family can't visit him during all of this. Shane's treatments will require an extended stay (In Boston) of a minimal of four to six weeks depending on how his body reacts to the chemotherapy treatments.

The reason we created this page is to give those who love Shane and the Walsh family an easy outlet to help! Shane is amazingly strong and  ready to fight this cancer head on (once again).  We can help support them by easing the stress and worry that the financial burdens can bring.   The Walsh family will be down to a single income for the forseeable furture. Stacy and Shane's mother will be traveling back and forth over three hours (each way) to visit him during treatment. He needs to focus on healing right now, so every penny and prayer is going to help us help him!

There are absolutely no words that can convey the amount of gratitude we have for the incredible outpouring of love and support following Shane's diagnosis. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Please continue to hold Shane and The Walsh Family in your thoughts and prayers please. Shane is so strong and strengthens by the love  and support shown to him.

We will keep this page updated as often as possible, so share with anyone and everyone you know that wants to follow along with Shane's progress. Thank you!

Sincerely,
The Walsh Family
