The P.A.C.E program is a student success initiative that began in January 2007 at the Wallaceburg District Secondary School. P.A.C.E will be closing in 2 weeks due to lack of funding. P.A.C.E is a program that helps struggling students become successful throughout the school year. Students struggling with mental illness ( depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction) also students with personal/ family problems or behaviour problems turn to pace for a safe place with enormous support from cousellors Ken Oneil and Cherrie Lalonde who go out of their way to help us. Since the P.A.C.E program opened in 2007 WDSS has had 0 student suicides. The number of students suspended has dropped from 376 in 2007/08 to only 98 in 2015/16. Crisis situations have also dropped from 120 in 2007/08 to 75 in 2015/16. P.A.C.E has helped many students get the education they deserve and simply helping students make it through another tough day. P.A.C.E has done a lot of hard work for WDSS and we plan to keep that going.
