Angel's Angels Part 2

(Ariel Leal before her death in June 2015)

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 15, 2016:

See details of the story of my friends the Leal family that were posted below several months ago.

Angel's situation has taken a turn for the worse. The transplant did not work. She is terminal-the doctors are keeping her comfortable.

And the finanical need remains. I want to stress again: These are NOT people that didn't have money set aside for emergencies, they had thousands in savings, even after their two children ALSO died of cancer. They are hard-working, no government hand-outs, loyal people. They have been paying MD Anderson's bills on the kids all of these years and continue to do so. Much of the experimental treatment for Ariel (their 12 yr old who passed away in June 2014) was very expensive and not covered by insurance--this drained Albert's 401K. Albert works for Schlumberger and on top of everything, has had furloughs in the past few months.

WE NEED HELP. THEY NEED MONEY DESPERATELY FOR LIVING EXPENSES. WHATEVER YOU CAN GIVE IS APPRECIATED!!!

Albert and Angel Leal have been married for what seems like forever. They had three children. Albert, Aaron, and Ariel.

Aaron was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma at a young age, He passed away at age 9 in 2003.

Angel developed breast cancer not long after his death in 2005 and underwent a mastectomy and chemo/radiation.

After finally getting on her feet,
she was hit with 2 sarcomas as a result of the breast cancer treatment. One in 2010 and another in 2012

During all of this, little Ariel is diagnosed with the same brain tumor that Aaron had, Medulloblastoma. She passed away at the age of 12 in 2014--(ironically, 2 days before the 11th anniversary of Aaron's death. )

One year later, in June of 2015, Angel sat on her bed at MD Anderson, waiting to go home. She'd gone in with a persistent fever, she left with a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Very agressive. One. Year. Later. Let that soak in.

How do you even grieve your losses when all of this is happening over the years?

I have been taking her back and forth to MD Anderson since July for treatment She is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant in less than 30 days.

We desperately need help. Her husband, Albert II, has missed lots of work even with us helping taking her to MDA; that, combined with all of the other illnesses and deaths in past, to say they are financially strapped is a weak choice of words.

Her SON, Albert III, is a transplant match. WITHOUT THIS TRANSPLANT SHE WILL DIE.

Post transplant, she will be hospitalized 30 days, then homebound with 24/7 care for several months. This is not free.

Need money FAST.

Please contribute whatever you can--You know if I'm asking, I mean it.

Thank you so much, friends. Love, Koy

(We have a facebook page also called Angel's Angels. I will attempt to attach it--if you can search and "like", that would be great.)
