Well on the 12th of March Joseph had his MRI scans and blood work and found out that Joseph's cancer came back. Everything came back, tumor and cancer and with more spread. We had met with the doctor about a week after the scan to go over options and what was available but we all agreed that Joseph can not take more chemo and radiation, not just because of damage already but also quality of life. His doctor got a hold of the doctors at St. Jude and we are now screening to see if he is available for a trial. They are going over things now and I will get more information about things when I receive the email. We spoke about palliative care and things we can do to make Joseph comfortable. We are helping him make his bucket list so he can have the best time with whatever time he has. His doctor didn't give a specific time period, just that it could be weeks to months without treatment, depending on the tumor growth rate and cancer. I have talked with Joseph about all this since he was diagnosed the first time and I continue to be honest with him. We are doing the one day at a time as a family and make each moment count.
We are asking for donations for many reasons, the main one being a buck list for Joseph. He has made a bucket list of all the things he wants to do with what time he has left. While he is able, we want to check off as many as possible and take him to see all he can. We also ask for donations for his doctor bills since there was a lapse in insurance and his parents are trying to pay what wasn't covered. We also ask for donations for his family pictures and any missed time at work so they can afford their bills. Joseph is strong and has been fighting to beat his cancer, it has been a very long and painful road for someone that is only eight. We are starting the bucket list now and could use your help.
