Greg Beasley's Miracle

Donation protected
Early Thursday morning, September 29, my sister's husband, Greg Beasley, was involved in a very serious accident. He was travelling down Highway 98 on the roads of Mississppi to his job at the prison where he has served over the decade.

If you have driven that highway before sunrise, you know it is pitch black. For unknown reasons a logging truck was parked in the middle of the higway wihout any lights on. Greg slammed into the back of the truck at about 70 mph. His small truck was crushed as it spun across the highway into oncoming traffic.

A good samaritan arrived shortly after and called for emergency services. As he was diverting cars away from the scene he noticed the logging truck pulling away. He was able to get the license plate info but the driver never got out of the vehicle. He simply turned his lights on and drove away while Greg was trapped in a crushed vehicle fighting for his life.

As the Mississippit State Troopers and Emergency Personnel arrived he was transported to the closest hsopital to handle this sort of trauma. My sister was told that there was no reason he should be alive. But he is.

Hi leg was crush. Hes femur snapped in half and his knee was no longer recognizable as a part of his leg. The doctors made no promises as the rushed him to surgery to attempt to reconstruct and save his leg as well as adress his other injuries. He will be in the hospital for weeks and will not be able to bare weight on his leg for 3-4 months. The time off of work is still yet to be undertermined but looks to be about 6 months to a year.

Right now they need any help they can get. Uninsured motorist won't even cover their deductibles. They have two children and cannot survive on Ashley's income alone. The State Police are hard at work looking for the driver that fled but there is no garuntee that driver was insured.

If you can help, no amount is too small. Greg has served the Mississippi Prison System for over a decade and spent his life helping others. My hope is that he gets the help now that they so desparately need. Ashley, Greg, Chris and Riley will be forever thankful, as will our entire family.
