Saving Autumn

Let me introduce you to our special little girl Autumn.  

This sweet, gentle giant of a girl has had a rough start to her life until Wagging Hearts was asked to step up and help Autumn and 25 other surviving dogs that were with her from a backyard breeder/ hoarding situation on October 19, 2019.

Autumn arrived to us scared of humans as she had no human interactions that were friendly, caring or loving until she was rescued from her hell hole by a caring and loving shelter manager named Deanna.  After she boarded her freedom ride she was placed in a foster home to start decompressing and become used to family life. 

Unfortunately on October 23, 2019 Autumn bolted from the safety of her foster’s home and care. As we narrowed down our search area she became spooked and started and started moving again.  

On the evening of October 28, 2019 we received a phone call she had Ben hit by a car and the gentleman brought her to a vet in order to save her life and get her help. This gentleman chose to help save her instead of leaving her behind.....HE IS AN ANGEL TO AUTUMN. 

Now we need help with the substantial medical bills that Wagging Hearts will be covering. She has a femur that was fractured in 8 different places with several bone fragments that need to be removed so her femur can be rebuilt.  The recovery for Autumn will be a long journey for her, her foster family, and the rescue army behind her to get her healthy again. 

Autumn’s medical bill as of day 1 will be close to $8000.00 between the emergency treatment, her surgery and hospital stay.  We are yet to calculate her rehabilitation that this beautiful girl is facing. We ask that you donate if you can (every little bit helps) and that you share to help us reach our goal. 

Our motto is from cages to couches and we and we want to get Autumn healed and on to a large couch of her own.
