Logan Overby and the Rare Tumor Aid
Donation protected
Thanks for taking the time to look at our page! That in itself means a lot. I am Evan Overby, and along with my wife Becky Overby are the proud parents of an awesome little guy named Logan Overby.
Logan had a normal birth and great start to life or so it seemed. He has always been full of smiles and giggles until he was four months old. Logan received his four months immunization shots and things have never been the same. The shots did not cause any issues but at that after that time our little guy never got back to himself. After several doctor and ER visits spanning a few weeks we finally had an answer as to why Logan was not acting like he normally would.
Logan was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus
secondary to (aka caused by) a Choroid Plexus Papilloma . Basically he is generating too much fluid around his brain caused by a tumor. This fluid causes pressure on his brain and his head to start swelling. Our kid is indeed special with this type of tumor only being in less than 1% of all intracranial tumors.
To date Logan has been in four surgeries and in the hospital for a month, with more to come before the tumor can be removed. He had a VP shunt placed to battle the hydrocephalus. Shortly after the placement his intestine wrapped around part of the shunt creating a hernia. A second surgery was performed to correct the bowel hernia. Few days later he then developed an infection in the shunt, so it had to be removed. Recently a new shunt has been put back in and we can look at getting the tumor removed. Through it all he has kept his loving spirit and smiling face.
We are asking for any help you can provide to bring Logan home a healthy and happy baby to be with his two older sisters again. As anyone knows going through a long medical stay for any reason can be very costly, not only medical bills but associated costs such as travel and meals. Any donations will be used to help cover the costs associated with Logan's journey. Even if you cannot donate we again appreciate you taking the time to read about our son. Thanks for your time and hope you have a wonderful day!
