Get Barbie Pooler Back on Her Feet

Donation protected
A spring blizzard battered Denver beginning on March  23, 2016, dumping several feet of snow. Though Barbie Pooler had worked late the night before at her job as cook at an eating disorders treatment center, she was heading back out to work at 5:30 the next morning with her arms full. As she carefully

crossed an icy parking lot, she fell, seriously fracturing her left femur, requiring surgery to install a rod and pins to try to mend her leg. She was in the hospital from March 24th to the 29th, then transferred to a rehabilitation facility from the 29th through April 23rd. Though she is back home now, she still faces a tough course of therapy and pain, and is concerned about when and how she is going to be able to return to her job, which requires her to be on her feet all day. Hospital, surgeon, anesthesiologist, physician and rehabilitation bills have begun to roll in, and there are also ongoing personal expenses for apartment, food, utilities, etc. for Barbie's modest lifestyle. A few years ago, Barbie had both hips replaced and was not able to go back to her position at the time as a grocery store clerk. Medical expenses and the cost of living while not able to work wiped out any savings she had. This is a good, kind lady, who always tries to help her family and friends as much as she can, but her life circumstances have not left her with much of a cushion at this point when a freak accident has put her in a truly untenable situation. Any contributions would be so appreciated by Barbie as she literally and figuratively "tries to get back on her feet" paying medical bills and personal expenses until she can get back to work.
