Hurricane Matthew Relief for Haiti

Least of These Ministries helps to aid the people of Haiti in partnership with Radio Lumiere, the national Christian radio network of Haiti.

Radio is vitally important in Haiti for education, communication, and encouragement.  Radio Lumiere provides news, education such as health training, how to practice good habits to prevent the transmission of disease, and word-of-mouth information broadcast on air to pass information.

Hurricane Matthew has significantly damaged Radio Lumiere's facilities across the nation, thus keeping it from aiding their people.

Our goal is two fold: (1) to procure water, food, medicine, and basic goods for the Haitian people, including Radio Lumiere's employees and families who have had their homes and all of their possessions destroyed.  By aiding them in this way we will help to provide for them their basic needs while (2) they work to get Radio Lumiere back on the air to communicate with the people.

The funds will be specifically to spend on travel expenses, food, and relief supplies as Peniel attempts to make his way across Haiti’s Tiburon Peninsula from PaP to Les Cayes, Torbeck, Morne Brieux, Dame-Marie, and Jeremie. Also for Peniel to use for food and aid for his family and his employee(s) who live in the Cayes area also. The intent is for them to meet their immediate short term needs until aid gets there so that he (Peniel) and his lead employee, Lhermon Banette can continue to assess damage and hopefully get Radio Lumiere back on the air. The Haitian people are highly dependent on Radio Lumiere.

We need funding as soon as possible; we have access to air flight and Haitians on the ground who can assist.  We just need the funding to purchase the material and to pay for the flights.  Roads are impassable, however, airports in Les Cayes and Jeremie are functioning.

Know that 100% of the money we raise goes toward the relief effort.
