Matt Droll's Family

The new chapter of Matt's life and that of our family started here in Mooresville, North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. We were so excited with our plans to buy a new home and had been actively searching. Matt was really looking forward to enjoying the Charlotte area, as well as our proximity to Tennessee and the chance to do more hiking and outdoors activities as a family. We are heartbroken beyond what mere words could convey from Matt's sudden passing on Tuesday evening, October 4th. He was only 41 years old. Explaining to his precious daughter, Avery on Wednesday when she woke where daddy was broke my heart to the core. It has been difficult to abruptly have him taken and we are, with each passing day, realizing how many things we planned that will never come to be for the three of us.
Matt's team at Agilent was very important to him and he spoke of all of you often. I know your names like you are family. He told me he made it a point to get to know each of his team members on a personal level because he thought it helped him to be a better manager. He was extraordinarily proud of the Agilent "family".
He would be very touched by the outpouring of kindness from his friends and colleagues. Please know any gifts received will go towards our daughter’s future. He and I recently talked at great length about wanting her to be able to follow whatever her heart led her to do. The GoFundMe site appears to require a “goal” dollar amount. I don't have a way to remove the goal amount feature, but I’ve set it at $1 and any contribution would be appreciated. Additionally, those who knew Matt are probably aware he never left anything to chance and planned for his family, so please know we will be okay and are thankful for your gifts in memory of Matt.
