On Oct 4th, 2016 around 10:00 p.m. beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, neice, and friend, Aleigha Michelle Hawkingberry, tragically passed away. Please hold Aleigha and her family in your thoughts and prayers. This smart, creative individual will be truly missed.
Aleigha had a military upbringing, which showed her the world, and as common in military kids, gave her high aspirations. She was born in Jacksonville Florida and lived in several navy towns both in the United States (Maryland and Virginia) and abroad (Sicily Italy). Aleigha has called the Virginia Beach area home for the last 13 years.
Just 6 weeks ago, Aleigha became a freshman at Tidewater Community College after graduating from Landstown High School last June. She wanted to become a "Judge someday". Her vibrant, friendly personality made her easily approachable and she had many friends.
Her wake will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday Oct 9th, 2016 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Home on Laskin Road. A church service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday Oct 10th, 2016 at St John The Apostle Catholic Parish on Sandbridge Road.
Any help for this torn family, would be used for funeral expenses for the unprovoked and needless death. Aleigha had such a bright and shining future. Your generosity would be truly appreciated in the unforeseen time of need. The tragedy of this situation is overwhelming.
