As some of you already know, My mom Molly Simons has just been diognoised with an aggressive type of colen cancer that so far has sprend to other areas near the colen. She has been in pain for many months now, and has lost a tremendous amount of weight. Doctors will under go treatment as soon as they get results from a PET scan telling them what stage it is at and where else it might have spread. Depending on that out come, they will deturmine how to treat her. whether chemo and radiation then followed by surgery, or surgery followed by chemo and radiation. Either way, she has been told that surgery will consist of removing the colen and other female parts as well she will be using a colostomy bag for the rest of her life.
Coupled with her new battle, just a few short years ago we lost her husband (our beloved Bear) whom was a Vietnam Vet and a receipieant of the VA lack of care in Arizona, to bladder cancer, whom the VA has also stated Molly is not eligible for VA care or assitance as a wife of a veteran, she had already been stuggling financially. She has been living with our sister Natalie in Maricopa since the end of December, and all of us kids have been pitching in with some of her bills over the last few months. But our mother is proud and won't always ask for our help. With Natalie being a single mother with two children, Fred and I being in Texas, and everyone else having families to support as well, its getting tough. Im afraid, once all her treatment gets started the added exspences of medications and the commute back and forth to Casa Grande will continue to become overwelming for her.
She is ready to fight this! and her spirits are high at the moment, even after all she has been through and going through. My mother is an extremeIy strong person and I believe she will fight this with all she's got. I would hate to see her go though this jouney and come out of it with insurmountable debt, exspecially since she will have added medical exspenses after treatment. I would like to try to keep those spirits up and eliviate some of her financial stress.
So, I am asking all of her friends and family if they would like to contribute to helping one AMAZING woman? She has always been there for me and probobly all of you at one time or another, and I am doing everything I can to be there for her. Fred and I have set up an account for her and every cent will help, no contribution is to small. In the event you are unable to make a financial contribution, your prayers will be greatly appriciated! Let us all ask God to give her stregnth, and help her body heal, to place angels around her and to always remind her how much she is loved!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. remember to share this and pass it along. I would like to reach out to as many peolpe as possible that will give their love, thoughts, prayers and support. Thank you all and God Bless!
