Hurricane Matthew Relief Andros Is
Donation protected
Members of the Maries County Sheriff's Office and Captain Jeff Adams are taking much needed items to Andros Island in the Bahamas. Andros Island was devastated by hurricane Matthew and they have no communication or power. They have no ability to get food or fresh water.
With the hurricane already killing over 300 people, there are many people who were not able to escape the devastation and urgently need assistance.
Adams, who owns Scuba Adventure, charters a yacht for private dive trips, and he has volunteered his time to help take necessities to an area that was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew.
We are asking for people to donate: canned goods, nonperishable food, emergency purification filters, bottled water, first aid supplies, or funds to purchase items.
Items can be dropped off at the Maries County Sheriff's Office located at 211 Fourth Street in Vienna, MO, Mace Supermarket in Belle, or at Scuba Adventure at 901 Jefferson Street in Jefferson City, MO.
For questions contact Sheriff Chris Heitman at [phone redacted].
Items need to be dropped off no later than October 13.
