Ashlee & Kara Need Our Help
This week you're balancing midterms; three exams and four papers. You're figuring out how to divide your time between schoolwork and your job when suddenly Florida declares a state of emergency. You need to pack up and evacuate your home as soon as possible.
Recently, Hurricane Matthew smashed into the southeastern coast of Florida. Thus far, St. Augustine has been one of the US cities most devastated by this storm.

I'm writing this on behalf of Kara and Ashlee, two wonderful and kindhearted people who could not have anticipated the financial and emotional burden that Hurricane Matthew put on them so suddenly.
Ashlee, Kara, and their puppy Goose were able to fill Kara's car with as many valuables as possible and evacuate to Orlando during the most powerful days of Matthew's wrath. In their absence, stormwater and raw sewage flooded their property. The floodwater submerged their furniture, college textbooks, Ashlee's car, and several other personal belongings for three days in several feet of water. 
Upon arriving at the house, Ashlee posted to Facebook,
"Our house flooded with about 3 feet of water as well as sewage that overflowed from the downstairs bathroom. My car flooded at least up to the glove box and isn't starting. We are trying to clear out as much as we can and start apartment hunting I guess."
Kara added to her timeline, "The worst part is that the sewage backed up in our house so there is fecal water covering our floor. No standing water, but hot as heck and smelly. The power turned on right as we were leaving, so at least there's that. Almost everything on the bottom half of our house is on the side of the road for the trash to pick up."
Ashlee and Kara need our help. As soon as possible, they will have to make a lot of expensive and exhaustive changes. Insurance isn't helping with anything.
We would love to raise enough money to help make a small dent in the costs they will bear. All monies raised will go towards the costs of relocating apartments, replacing the piles of belongings that they've lost, and financing a new car.
