Gary's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Sunday, 9/11/16 started out as a typical Sunday for Gary and his wife Kathy. They attended church services at Crossbridge Christian Church where Gary is a member of the church's worship team. Later in the afternoon, Gary spent the afternoon working in his yard when he began to feel overheated. He came into the house and asked for some water and said he wasn't feeling good. Within just a few minutes, Gary was unresponsive. Kathy called 911 and he was transported to West Houston Medical Center under cardiac arrest.
He was immediately taken to surgery where a stent was placed in 1 of his arteries. There were difficulties during the surgery causing Gary to suffer from an embolic stroke.
Gary was in serious critical condition and totally unconscious for his 1st week in ICU. During this time they found that Gary was also diabetic. He was kept in ICU for another week while the Dr.s tried to control his blood pressure, blood sugar, and evaluate the impact of the stroke.
After 2 weeks in ICU, Gary was moved to IMCU where they continued to monitor him. He started speech and physical therapy.
He was finally dismissed from the hospital on October 8th.
Gary continues to improve but is still suffering from weakness and from the effects of the stroke.
Unfortunately, there was little insurance to cover Gary's surgery and his stay in the hospital.
Gary worked as a contractor so when he doesn't work, he is not paid. The if and when of his return to work is in question.
We are asking for your assistance to cover his medical expenses and monthly household expenses.
Any amount you can contribute is appreciated.
Prayers are coveted too for his complete healing.
