Zuriash Biruk Isayas (Atside Mariam) was born on April 24 , 1965. Born and raised in Dese, Ethiopia, the daughter of Biruk Isayas and Mameta Belete. When she was at school age she attended both primary and secondary school in Dese, Ethiopia at Memihir Akaleweld and Woyzero Sihin Academy. After completing her primary and secondary education she went further in getting her diploma in Accounting and Served in Dese Branch of Ethiopian Sugar Industry sector.
In her early years, Zuriash would help her family as a provider . After graduating with the accounting degree she had spent her time in Ethiopia helping and working to provide for her family. She was able to move to the United States through her big brother’s support in the early 90s. She not only took pride in her work, but truly relished the friends she made along the way.
She met her husband, Tedla Habte at Debre Selam Kidist Mariam Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Washington D.C. and they were married on September 23, 1995 at Debre Mihiret Kidus Michael Ortodox Church. He was a brief resident of Washington D.C. and lifelong resident of Atlanta, Georgia.
After moving to Atlanta in October 1996 Zuriash and Tedla devoted their life to God, Church and Family & Friends. She leaves her childrens sons, Addis Tedla, & Abel Tedla; her daughter, Mihiret Tedla; her brothers Nebiu Issayas, Berhanu Isayas, Beniam Isayas, and her sisters Bizunesh Isayas, Alem Isayas and 4 grandchildren; her church family and many close relatives and friends.
Zuriash Biruk Isayas (Atside Mariam), was 56, when she left this world Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Grady Memorial Hospital Atlanta, Georgia due to a massive stroke which caused extensive brain damage. Zuriash had a passion for her faith and was able to raise her children to fear God and respect all human life.
