Aaron Bidwell Memorial Scholarship
The Aaron Bidwell Memorial Scholarship was established in loving memory of
Aaron Levi Bidwell.
Aaron was a 17 year old Senior at Cotton Valley Early College High School (CVECHS) in Fabens, Texas.
CVECHS serves students of El Paso County Texas as an Early College High School where they work toward the completion of a college Associate’s Degree, while participating in high school coursework that qualifies them for the Distinguished Achievement Graduation Plan (DAP) under Texas graduation requirements.
Aaron was committed to Academic Excellence:
Top Ten since Kindergarten, A Honor Roll throughout his entire school career, acceptance at CVECHS, his Associates of Science from El Paso Community College as a 16 year old Junior in High School, taking 7 credit hours at UTEP, which included Physics and Sociology, while simultaneously earning his High School diploma.
He continuously strived to encourage his fellow students in their own academic endeavors.
Aaron was admired by many. He was the first person to lend a helping hand and tutor anyone who was struggling in courses.
He also participated in Community Clean-Ups and worked with a local volunteer group dedicated to restoring a forgotten cemetery in Fabens, TX.
Aaron died tragically in an automobile accident on October 12, 2015,
while traveling back home from a concert at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
As part of Aaron’s legacy at CVECHS, his parents, Gayle and Christy Bidwell, in conjunction with the CVECHS Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) have established this $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded to the top graduating Cotton Valley Early College Senior.
The first Scholarship was awarded in May of 2016.
Our goal is to make this scholarship an annual award. With your generous donation, we can accomplish this goal and help Aaron’s legacy continue for years to come.
Thank you.
