Help Claudia Make Memories

Claudia Carrick is 7 years old and she is a twin. Her brother Robin was born 3 minutes before her, both were 7 weeks premature. Claudia weighed 4lb 2ozs and Robin 3lb 10 ozs. They were little fighters from the beginning. Their mum Allison has brought them up on her own, with lots of help from her sister Jayne. 

Claudia is a beautiful, sensitive, funny, very caring little girl who has always looked after other children in her company.

On 11.02.21, Claudia became unwell at school and was taken to Alder Hey Hospital were it was discovered she had fluid on her brain. The next day Claudia went to theatre to have the fluid drained but unfortunately, the doctors discovered a tumour which was inoperable due to its position within the brain.

On 16.02.21, Allison was given the devastating news that Claudia has an aggressive malignant brain tumour - the condition is called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). It effects the spinal cord, swallow, reflex, eyes, breathing, mobility, balance and muscle paralysis and it is incurable. 

Claudia is already suffering with quite a lot of the effects and requires help with everything and a wheelchair as her mobility is greatly reduced. 

The hospital have offered Claudia radiation treatment which could prolong her life by 9-12 months but this can only be done twice and is dependent on Claudia remaining stable. 

There have been clinical trials at Great Ormond Street but they have been stopped until next year. The family are looking into this further to see if there is any possibility of getting her on a trial. 

This little family’s lives have been torn apart within a period of 6 days. The twins were separated for the first time ever whilst Claudia was having tests etc and this was so hard on them, they are soul mates. The picture above of them was their reunion after this time. Their love is so precious ❤️

We are requesting your help to give this family a chance to make memories and to spoil these children to whom life has been so cruel. This will also help with the practicalities of life and relieve some financial pressures for mum.

I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to read Claudia's story, donated, shared and sent prayers. 

Go fund me have been in contact and asked me to upload the following information in order for the funds raised to be released to Claudia. 

My name is Natalie Banks and I am Claudia’s cousin, I set this fundraiser up in the hope of raising some funds for Ally Claudia and robin, I can’t believe the amount we have raised and thank you to everyone for supporting them... originally the funds where to be withdrawn to Claudia and Robins Nan Olwyn (Allison’s mum) were she had opened a separate account for Claudia to have access. Unfortunately Olwyn( Claudia’s Nan) does not have an in date passport or driving licence so can not withdraw the funds, therefore the funds will be withdrawn to my personal bank account, which will then be immediately directly transferred via bank transfer to Olwyn’s account, that she has set up ready for Claudia, and proof can be provided. This has caused some delay in Claudia getting access to the money, go fund me have asked me to update all the people who have donated with this information. Hope this is enough and the twins can start to enjoy all the lovely things they have planned.
