McMonagle's Power of Change Classroom

Central Catholic High School invites you to witness the Power of Change! Donate between January 29th and February 9th to help those in need experience hope, kindness, and compassion!

All proceeds received by Friday, February 9th at midnight will benefit the Central Catholic CommuniCare programs, St. Andre Bessette Parish, and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. We are excited to announce that donations of $50 or less will be eligible for an INCREDIBLE $10 to $1 gift match by the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation up to $30,000!

Help us demonstrate the Power of Change by donating today and sharing this link broadly with your friends and family. We need as much participation as possible, and with such a generous match all donations, regardless of size, will make a huge difference!!

St. Andre Bessette Parish will use donations raised by the Central Catholic community to fund community outreach programs that provide food, rent, healthcare, and other vital services in our community. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital will use these donations to support their Kids Making Miracles program that addresses immediate pediatric healthcare needs, cures kids with cancer, mends broken hearts and bones, stops seizures, saves the tiniest babies, and trains the next generation of pediatric specialists.

The Central Catholic CommuniCare program also provides a platform for a portion of these donations, and the matching funds from the Harold and Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation, to be granted to Oregon-based nonprofits by Central Catholic student leaders. At the direction of these students, we will use a portion of these funds to support organizations that provide employment opportunities, basic needs services, and affordable housing to those that live at the intersection of poverty and disability. The remaining funds will be used to support organizations that offer immigrants and refugees access to services such as medical care, affordable housing, and employment opportunities.

To reward participation in our Fifth-Period classes, we will once again offer a fun incentive for the class with the highest participation in the Power of Change. The winning class will earn the choice of a private Chipotle or Shake Shack lunch, and the winning teacher will receive dinner of their choice for their household!
