CHARITY SOCCER MATCH AGAINST LAOIS FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE

Charity Football Match Sunday 27th October 2024.

Arlington Pitch Portarlington 1pm.

SSO Ed gallagher will be managing the laois fire and rescue service team and Robert Norman will manage his team as they go head to head for a gruelling 90 minutes

In Aid of Family Carers Ireland organised by Martina, Joe and Robert Norman and SSO Ed gallagher Portarlington fire station to raise Awareness of Autism & The Impact of Family Caring for both Children and Adults with Additional Needs and Medical issues.

Robert was born 3 weeks early in February 2008. From the time Robert was a baby he was quite sick and we had many hospital stayovers in Portlaoise where a lot of tests were carried out.

Robert was diagnosed with Asthma, a Cross Fused Etopic Kidney and Scoliosis. At the age of 3 Robert was diagnosed with Autism. In the later years we also found out Robert is Dyslexic and has Dyscalcula too.

Robert is a Fun loving, kind hearted and caring child in his own way. He is adventurous and likes GAA and always has a football in his hands. Robert continues to have medical issues and appointments which keep Mammy and

Daddy busy but we wouldnt have it any other way.

About 3 weeks ago Robert came to us and said he would like to do a Fundraiser and came up with the idea of having a football match for Family Carers Ireland as Roberts Mam Martina is his full time carer. He decide to include the e laois county fire and rescue service and asked SSO Ed Gallagher and SO Paul Bolger if he could do this. They accepted the challenge ☺️.

We met with Beth who is over the Tullamore Branch and got the ball rolling from there as they say. We also met with SSO Ed gallagher and SO Paul Bolger who are in the Portarlington Branch of the Laois County Fire and Rescue Service to see if they would like to participate in the event too. They have agreed to partake.

We are raising vital funds for Family Carers Ireland as no one should have to care alone and know that support is always available.
