Delaney's Service Trip to Nicaragua
Donation protected
My name is Delaney Morris and I am currently a sophomore nursing major at Salve Regina University. After an intensive application process, I've been chosen as one of twenty students who will take part in Salve's Nicaragua Service Trip in January of 2017 run through Mustard Seed Communitites.
Founded over 30 years ago, Mustard Seed Communities now cares for over 600 children in 14 communities, throughout Jamaica, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Zimbabwe. MSC strives to meet the growing needs of the most vulnerable members of their societies by improving the economic, social and spiritual conditions of the communities served. Their aim is to make a difference in the lives of children who were abandoned, children that have disabilities, children that suffer from HIV/AIDS, teens that are pregnant and alone, and others.
In taking part in this experience, I will get the chance to work with children and young adults at Hogar Belen-Diriamba Orphanage while staying in a dormstyle mission cottage on the campus. I will have scheduled time to interact and play with the children and will also be participating in a work project that may include light construction, painting, farming, or landscaping.
The majority of any donations I recieve will be going directly towards the Mustard Seed Communities in Nicaragua. Any additional funds will help contribute to my flight costs of partaking in this amazing experience! I have from now until November to fundraise this money, any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated by both myself and the children of MSC!! Thanks so much!
