Jesse’s Recovery

Donation protected
Growing up, I was always known as “Jesse’s daughter”. It seemed like anywhere we went, we were always being stopped because someone noticed my dad and they just had to catch up right then and there. He was someone who had all the connections and friends from relationships he built with people from our community. He was someone people could and would go to and the kind of person who would help you when you needed. Whatever the task or request. On July 11th, he suffered a massive stroke from almost fatally low blood pressure. He also suffered a brain bleed that has currently been deemed “inoperable” due to the depth and location of the bleed. The stroke left his right side almost completely paralyzed. He can slightly wiggle his right leg but not very much. He is currently bed ridden and non vocal (only mumbles). Most days, he wakes up unable to process where he’s at or who is surrounding him. Which then leads to him becoming very agitated and wanting to leave. His dietary restrictions keep changing because he’s unable to digest even liquids due to choking. Once he’s able to be calmed, he slowly starts remembering things and little pieces of my dad start to shine through again. But our streaks of good luck don’t last very long because the cycle tends to start over before the day ends and his memory becomes hazy or his agitation begins again. The doctors main concern while he’s in their care is getting control of his blood pressure and monitoring the bleed. His BP will regularly shoot up high or drops instantly low. Once we can get this under control, the next steps will be looking into an inpatient rehab to help him try and gain feeling and motion into his right side again as well as his feeding habits. They see recovery absolutely being an option but they did tell us it wasn’t going to be easy and wasn’t going to happen quickly. They don’t intend on releasing him or transporting him anytime soon but when that process does begin, he could be looking at months of therapy and even more work to be done when he finally is able to come home. We’ve already started the process of getting disability and a different kind of insurance to help us with the rehabilitation but have already been warned it could take a couple of months to get a decision back. Inpatient treatment is our only option as of right now given where his health stands and until we hear back from insurance, it will likely need to be paid out of pocket. My father started a new business a few months ago and were just finally to see progress and success before his stroke happened. His family depended on his income and while we are finding ways to make do, adding these new bills on top of what we’ve already got is really going to put a huge strain on the family. We are asking if you feel led to donate, you’ll be helping cover a medical bill, rehabilitation costs, helping his family at home and or any medical equipment/assistance he may need when his time comes to finally come back home to his family.

If you can’t donate (don’t worry, we still appreciate you), we kindly ask if you wouldn’t mind sharing this around to help us. We want to thank everyone who has reached out to our family and all the endless prayers you’ve sent our way. The love and encouragement we’ve gotten has been the best strength and hope of light that we are gonna get my dad in good health and home again soon.
