Trojan Family Fire Fund
Donation protected
The unthinkable happened on October 11th, 2020.
In the early morning hours, a devastating fire tore through a Parkview home in Edmonton, AB - taking the life of mother of two, Cynthia, and severely injuring her husband, Shawn. Thankfully, the children were away at a sleepover so Cynthia and Shawn could celebrate their 28th anniversary together on the night of this unimaginable tragedy.
The home is not livable and all belongings are gone. Shawn's road to recovery will be long, and finding a new way of life without Cynthia will be challenging.
Cynthia's MS diagnosis at age 25 prevented her from getting life insurance, so while the house and contents are insured - there are no provisions to support her family for the additional resources required to get them through this heartbreaking time.
Shawn and the kids have immediate and long-term needs, and your generous donations will help with funeral expenses, immediate essentials, and future financial support towards education and ongoing family expenses.
Thank you for your outpouring of love and support. We are truly overwhelmed at the offers to help, and we are so grateful to have such an amazing community to navigate these uncharted waters.
We understand that current challenging economic times may not allow for a financial contribution - but feel free to email [email redacted] to be contacted should the family require other assistance that creatively channel your love and support. There is also a Facebook Page set up to help organize support for the family. #cottontrojanfire
