Our gorgeous son Hudson was diagnosed with Autism when he was just aged 3, before this time Hudson was developing well as any other child, he was saying words, making eye contact, copying, learning and enjoying different activities such as football and swimming.
But as he approached the age of 2 he started to show signs of slow regression and could no longer do certain things that he was once was able to do including communication being the biggest delay.
As a mother you try and tell yourself this isn't happening as I watched my boy slowly be pulled in to his own world and become a different child. We were then given his diagnosis which broke our hearts and completely devastated us.
Since then I haven't stopped researching into what, why and how this had happened as there is no way on earth I am going to give up without trying everything possible.
Unfortunately the NHS do not offer any advice or further service after diagnosis. We have tired various recommended treatments including horse therapy, alternate remedies and change of dietary as well as sensory therapy all in which has been positive but still at the age of 5 he still can not talk, socialise with other children and has severe repetitive behaviours.
From research and recommendation, we have found a centre in Massachusetts in America called the "Ultra Wellness Centre" founded by Doctor Mark Hyman. They emerge tests and tools to help identify the imbalances that are at the root of the illness and then work with each individual using functional medicine and specialist medical therapists.
Obviously this comes at a very high price which for consultation, high level lab testing and treatment is £6500 plus flights and accommodation so we have in mind a set target of £9500.
This is the initial starting point and we will be using fundraising events to help us on our way.
We are holding a fundraising evening on Saturday 24th September from 7.30pm at the Arlington Arms, seaside road, Eastbourne.
Tickets are £10 each & there will be a disco, buffet & an auction bid, if anyone has any services they can offer for the auction please get in touch. Please keep sharing this event and help us raise money.
We thank each and everyone of our friends and family for ongoing support and appreciate any donations we receive to help us on our journey to improve Hudson's quality of life.
With many thanks and love,
Krystel, Mike and Hudson xxx
