Southern California FASD Network Status
Donation protected
The Southern California Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Information & Support Network is ready to establish itself as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
This change will allow donors to give tax-deductible donations to the network, and for the network to use its tax-exempt status in order to:
Collaborate more strongly with other organizations working on behalf of FASD treatment and prevention
Lobby state and federal governments -- as well as government agencies and treatment facilities -- on behalf of laws and policies which benefit persons and families who are living with the effects of FASD (especially those in California)
Apply more effectively for grant monies on behalf of Southern California families affected by FASD
Provide FASD-focused training and education programs in Southern California
Create better FASD awareness and service campaigns for Southern Californians
Manage and keep current our web site and other communications resources
and...
Build and distribute scholarships for individuals affected by prenatal alcohol exposure and their support network in Southern California.
This campaign is to raise money needed to cover the required registration and related fees to be recognized by the state and Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit organization.
