Update: 7/26/18
Hey Friends of the Werners! With their permission, we are firing up their campaign again. Our friends have found themselves smack dab in a “when it rains, it pours” time of life.
1. Eric’s hip has had complications requiring another unexpected surgery today. The surgery revealed an issue that will now have Eric out of work for 6-8 weeks plus on bed rest for healing for awhile.
2. Their fridge died. Repair person on the way, but an unexpected expense ... with 7 kids and hot weather, no bueno! We can’t start a food train for them until the fridge is up and running.
3. One of their cars is in need of service. We are hoping to find a good mechanic who can take a look for free, but if not, will need some funds to take care of this issue.
All of this with the activities of 7 kids including Miss Fi’s ongoing needs and care.
Won’t you please consider helping our friends? No contribution is to small (or too large!). All funds go directly to Sam & Eric.
Update: 8/29/16
All materials for the deck ended up being donated by Chinook Lumber! Sam and Eric have asked to use this fund to replace carpet in their home with laminate wood floors. This will make it more healthy for Fiona when she gets to come home! Please consider donating to make this improvement to their home!
Thank you!!!
8/25/16 On August 15, 2016, sweet baby Fiona Werner entered the world. Prior to her birth, her parents Samantha and Eric learned that she had a condition called Trisomy 13. Fiona is a FIGHTER! She has some traits and conditions associated with Trisomy, and has had some bumps in the road in her first days of life. On August 25, 2016 she was transferred to Seattle Children's Hospital in order to receive more specialized care for her condition. Mommy Samantha is by her side in Seattle, while Daddy Eric is at home holding down the fort with their other 6 children. As friends, we are raising funds to support the Werners during this difficult time. Friends and family have rallied to do some maintenance and upkeep of their home (Eric has had recent surgeries himself, and is still recovering!). The primary purpose of this fund will be to replace the deck on the back of their home. The deck has fallen into disrepair, and is in need of replacing for safety reasons. In addition, there will now be travel expenses associated with Baby Fiona being hospitalized 35 miles from their home. After the cost of decking materials (all labor will be volunteer), funds will be given to the Werners for travel to and from Fiona's bedside, for the expense of being away from home so much, and for allaying the medical bills that are mounting daily. No amount is too small, please give what you can to help this amazing family!
