When Lauryn was born she was immediately rushed to U of M CS Mott Childrens hospital. Her veins were very blue showing through her skin. Unbeknownst to us until she arrived that she had Tetrology of Fallot with mapkas, Pulmonary Atresia with VSD and a hole in her heart. While in the hospital she underwent open heart surgery and surgery they were able to do very little repair because she wasn’t strong enough. She caught a cold while there was pit on oxygen until her hey discovered she also had trachea bronchial malacia and needed a tracheotomy tube and ventilator to survive. Every 6 months to a year she has had an open heart surgery to correct her repair little at a time but in between she’s had aneurysms that have occurred and infection that was not planned and needed immediate intervention. She has been put under anesthesia over 40 times and 11 open heart surgeries with heart catherizations in between as well as work on her trachea site as well. Her anatomy is very different from the norm but she is a fighter and keeps going.
