Whether you know Erin P. as a friend, firefighter, rescuer, volunteer or support person, now is the time to support her. Recently her home burnt down, whilst on shift as a firefighter. The insurance company does not recognise the claim as it was several weeks past due. Erin did log on to pay and thought she was covered. She has been with that insurance company since she was 18. Ironically, Erin was deployed most of this time through NSW for flood and natural disaster events. We are aiming to raise funds for a portable small home that Erin can place in her backyard for a place to live and start work on the burnt home. Erin also lost her family's heirlooms and her grandmother passed away less than a week after the fire. Erin has saved and helped so many people in her lifetime. She works as a professional firefighter, rescuer, water rescuer and Urban Search and Rescue technician. She supports volunteers of the NSW SES where she has been a volunteer for 18 years and responds as a volunteer in both Sydney and rural SES units to storm, flood and medical emergencies. Her rescue work has been recognised internationally and she has received many awards for her mental health work and was a 2020 Inspirational Woman of the Year. Losing your home and family heirlooms is awful, but the strain of a mortgage and no home and no insurance means we need to help out. Erin is not one to ask for support, so this is why we are doing this, she was back at work days later and worked Christmas Day for the community. A portable small house does not replace her home, but if we can raise $50,000 then we can get her back to her home. Anything further will go to the removal/rebuild/repair/whatever of the burnt home. Please send to any person, company or business who can also help. Thank you.
