Steve Sosa Medical Fund

On June 9th, Master Steve Sosa was unexpectedly hospitalized, underwent surgery and was diagnosed with colon cancer the following week. He will hopefully be released from the hospital soon, but he needs our help with the mounting medical expenses, as well as ongoing cost of treatments to put it into remission.  This diagnosis is sudden and overwhelming, and I’m sure the financial burden will be, too.

Master Sosa has spent the majority of his life (almost 40 years, since earning his black belt at the age of 10), mentoring and inspiring kids, and adults, to be their best selves, using TaeKwonDo and other martial arts styles.   He did this either through his own martial arts school and/or partnering with fellow black belts and friends.  He just recently left his own business to join the Texas Karate Institute, in order to assist their outreach by enabling them to to expand their youth and adult programs.  In addition, he’s worked tirelessly to improve so many people’s lives through martial arts in his community.  He is a gifted teacher, witnessed by so many of us who have known him for so long.

It would be amazing if we could show Master Sosa how much he has meant to all of us—his past and present students, parents of those students, those of us whose lives he’s touched, as well as beloved colleagues.  Giving him the opportunity to focus on healing, so that he can get back to his students—one of his biggest priorities—would undoubtedly be the best gift.  Please consider donating anything you can, no matter how small.  And if you can’t at this time, please keep him and his family in your thoughts during his journey.  Thank you so much for your kindness.
