Help Foxy Love

 

Foxy is a vibrant 13-year young Pomeranian Chihuahua who is full of life and has the sweetest personality. Her favorite things are cuddling her humans, going for walks, rolling in the grass, playing with her brother cat Romeo and looking for any trouble a 5lb dog can such as climbing the cat scratching post trying to get to level 3! Colleen and Kelvin love her so much and she is their little baby. 

 

 It breaks my heart she suffered a sudden and unexpected heart failure with no prior warning signs. Her parents are devastated and in overwhelming tears. Foxy has been in great health with good energy, a strong appetite and normal behavior until two days ago. She has regular annual checkups at the vet without any concerns, her sudden difficulty was completely unforeseen and a shock to her loving pet-parents. Until this day every year the vet has commented "wow! She has such a strong, healthy heartbeat", no one saw this coming. Her pawparents are in complete shock.

 

Foxy was rushed to the Intercity Animal Emergency Clinic Thursday evening when she collapsed and her tongue turned blue. The vet began immediate lifesaving care including 12hrs in an oxygen chamber, injected diuretics and heart medications every two hours, IV fluids and extensive heart tests to diagnose the exact cause and start treatment. She will need to stay on numerous heart medications for the rest of her life but is expected to come home with her family in stable condition this evening. Her emergency veterinary expenses are a hardship on the struggling family to afford due to recent changes in their financial circumstances. They are roughly looking at $7000 currently. They hope to recover some of the costs by selling personal belongings.
