Something was always taught to me and that was to always work hard for what you need and want. My name is Catherine and my dad set up this page for me due to needing some help financially right now until I can get my applications processed for disability. This is hard for me to ask for help because I’ve always worked to make a living and make sure life was taken care of. 15 yrs ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and suffer from extreme lows and highs. I’ve suffered DKA more times than I can count and thankfully come out of them without being placed in a-coma. Over the years, unfortunately I have developed even more severe illnesses. I now suffer from Anemia, Gastropersis, stage 3d chronic kidney disease, heart failure with an ejection fraction. Part of the diabetes has also caused neuropathy in my legs which makes it hard to walk and stand for longer periods of time. I met the love of my life Mike and we were together for 10yrs, he allowed me take time away from work so we could focus on my health and new conditions that have been diagnosed. He was the sole provider for our family. I could never repay him for the care he gave me. In April of this year, he suffered a stroke, 3 weeks after this I took him in to get rechecked out and found out he had a brain tumor. He was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma and was given 6-8 months to live. His health declined and in a turn of events I became his caregiver. I had to place my person in a nursing home as my body was not capable of caring full time for him. However, even through my sickness I was there day in and day out taking care of him. I became HIS caregiver. I watched the person I loved, a headstrong determined, strong willed stubborn man become reliant on others to care for him. I know it was tough for him and not something he wanted. 5 months later on Sept 7, I lost my husband, my soulmate, my person….my forever. In this process bills and rent have piled up. It’s just my daughter and I now and I’m waiting for my disability to come through and I’m behind on everything. I don’t like asking for help or even letting people know I’m struggling. But I’ve recently become unable to catch up on my rent and pay simple bills I’m use to paying. I’m not asking for a lot, I’m just asking for help in a time of need. I know and I’m determined I’ll get through this. Just in need of some help along the way. Anything anyone can assist with is greatly appreciated. Owing back pay on my rent is stressful and something that is hard to fathom. The house I’m in, is the house Mike and I built and made a home together. Our room is everything that is us and makes me feel like he’s still there with me. To leave all of it behind or to lose is something my heart can’t take. Anything you can donate will not go to anything other than to make sure I don’t lose everything I have left. I can’t thank all of you personally but know that my heart appreciates any little thing you can do. Truly thank you to anyone.
