Rizzo's Fire Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Hey there friends of Jen. We are reaching out to you because she needs help getting back on her feet after a devastating incident today.

If you haven't heard, there was a fire in her apartment building this morning. Jen was at work and is safe. But damage was bad -- there's a good chance that it was a total loss:

If there is a tiny silver lining, it's that Rizzo was already going to move on May 1. So her housing needs are short term, and we are working with her to make sure she's covered for the next 9 days.

That said, her personal effects are likely a total loss. She will likely walk away with just the clothes on her back. And because of the vagueries of San Francisco sublets, renter's insurance is not helping here.

As you can imagine, the emotional loss is almost as bad as the financial one. As her colleagues and friends, we're passing the digital hat to raise money to get her back on her feet. She'll have enough to process over the next week, and we want to at least take the financial pressure of re-building off the table a bit. Anything you can donate is appreciated and all proceeds will go to her to spend as she sees fit.

We're hoping to get her funds by April 29, before her move.

Thanks in advance for anything you can contribute, and reach out to us with any questions.

Best,
Alex.
