"The Renaissance Of The Drikung Kagyu"

Donation protected
Help me to create a Photo Essay and Resource Book, about the Renaissance of The Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism Monasteries. After the so called Cultural Revolution destroyed the large majority of Tibetan Monasteries and Schools, the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Monasteries was in shambles both inside and outside Tibet. The Heads of the Lineage were sent to Labor Camps and the ruins of their thousands of years old monasteries were left to the winds.

In 1975 His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche crossed the Hymalayas on foot and alone, reaching H.H. The Dalai Lama in India and later his family in America.

In 1987 I met him in Washington D.C., I as a journalist, working as a lobbyist for the Environment, and him with a handful of projects. Today, The Drinkung Kagyu has rebuilt many monasteries inside Tibet by the hand of their devout people, and in India a Monastery, a Nunnery, and a College in Dehradun, and around the world retreat places, Meditation Centers, and Peace Stupas Temples.

I have followed its process and the sacrifices and efforts of this dedicated people for many years documenting and photographing their events and efforts. This book will show the power of faith, dedication and hard work facing the Tibetan People, now joined by Westerners globally in the face of their cultural genocide.

This book has been approved by the His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, head of the Lineage, who will also fund the publishing of the Book in India.

Funding: I need to make two trips to India and one to Nepal with an assistant-- $7,000 for photos and research, and one trip to Europe and Asia: $5,000 to document the new centers and monasteries. General expenses: $ 3,000.
