Catharine is the type of pal that can come into your life and within a small amount of time you know you've found a "forever friend". The type that no matter where our paths lead us, either a block away or across the country, if I needed her, she would move mountains to find a way to help. She along with her husband Nick are always reaching out to help anyone in need. I feel like this is the perfect way to help them take a little bit of the financial burden off of their shoulders as they begin the next leg of Cathy's journey.
Cathy and Nick along with their three beautiful children live in Owasso, Oklahoma. Due to the extremely rare cancer diagnosis (grade 2 unclassified liposarcoma with myxoid features) her team of doctors are in Houston, TX at MD-Anderson. Cathy has to be in Houston for three days next week, then back again on September 12th to begin her 6 weeks of radiation followed by another surgery. As you can imagine, the thought of being away from her kids for weeks is heart wrenching. To make things a little easier she will treated Monday-Friday and will be flying back home to spend the weekends with her family...be home Friday night in time to eat dinner, spend the weekend, get the older two off to school Monday then catch a flight back in time for treatment that afternoon.
The multiple flights, hotels, & food will add up quickly, along with all the medical bills and cost of continued scans. If you can help, please do, again I can't think of a more deserving family who will most definitely pay it forward in the future! More important than any donation, please PRAY for Cathy and her doctors and complete healing without reoccurrence...that the treatment and surgery go smoothly/without any side-effects.
