Medical funds for Katie

On December 7th, 2017 Katie Stulc’s life changed forever. Earlier in the week she had a biopsy done on a lump she had found 4 weeks prior, in her groin. A pet scan later proved to be stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. While this form of cancer is not only treatable and curable, Katie does have to fight hard. They speculate this cancer has been wreaking havoc on her body for the last year. It started in her chest cavity in the lymph nodes on her lungs, moved to her throat, under arms, groin, and spleen and into the bones of her hips and spine.
The chemo is strong and long going. December 7th was the last day Katie was able to work as a stylist at Hair Expressions by Elaine. She will be traveling a lot over the next six months for her treatments, and needing her partner Dustin’s support mentally and physically. This also includes him needing to take many days off from his job in the cities to help take care of her and bring her to treatments. They also have a blended family of 5 kids: Annie (14), Paige (10), Blake (8), Rylan (5), and Julie (5) and their hobby farm.
Katie, Dustin and their bunch had just started to live out their dream this last year by opening Berg Country Pumpkins, which not only is field farming but hobby farming as well. They opened their farm up to the public the fall of 2017 with fun fall activities i.e. pumpkin picking and hayrides. They accomplished many things this past year with plans to expand every year. The devastating news of cancer made Katie and Dustin make the heart wrenching decision to put their dream on hold for the 2018 year.
Katie's insurance is already denying medications that she needs to fight this battle. With her not being able to work, they cannot afford to pay for them out of pocket. Katie and Dustin are very hardworking, passionate, prideful people. They never ask for help. But now it’s our turn to rally behind this good family and help them out.
