Dominic's Eye Surgery
Donation protected
Our son Dominic has Keratoconus; a distortion of the eyes which is caused by thinning of the cornea. Over the past year, Dominic’s condition has progressed rapidly; what should have taken a lifetime to advance and worsen has taken only a year. With prayers to find a remedy, we brought Dominic to see a specialist a few weeks ago. Due to the severe advancement of Dominic’s disease, his eyes now show signs of bulging, scarring, and thinning; his cornea, now is half the thickness it should be. The doctor suggested immediate procedures be taken to try and save Dominic’s sight.
With a bright future ahead of him, one of Dominic’s goals include a Culinary Arts degree. In order to achieve this goal, among others he wants to pursue, Dominic’s options are limited and expensive: (1) A corneal transplant or (2) Collagen cross-linking; the bottom line is that he is need of a procedure that will be costly. With $2200 for both eyes (cross-linking alone) or $2700 for the advanced procedure (cross-linking & restorative vision…up to 80%), and traveling expenses, the total is estimated around $6000. In the short time that we have learned of the progression of Dominic’s disease, we have raised $2000 of the total needed. However, with time constraints and the need for an immediate procedure (September 16th), we are asking for your help please. If you are able to donate in any way, we thank you so much! More importantly, Dominic thanks you and God Bless.
