Niyonkuru Cornelio

Niyonkuru Cornelio, son of Citegetse Ngabonziza and Kabahizi Gafanago, was born in Burundi in 1997. He grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya and came to Rockford, IL on July 12, 2017 with his mom, dad, brother and 4 sisters. In 2018, Niyo and his family moved to Rock Island, IL to be closer to family and friends. During his last year of high school, he completed welding training and completed his certificate at BlackHawk College. In his free time, he loved playing soccer at Rock Island High School. Niyonkuru leaves behind his 4 year old son, mom, dad, brother, and sisters.

We are looking for help to cover the funeral and burial costs. The funeral will be on Friday, October 28th at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Rock Island. We appreciate any help you can give!
